itinerary
Our adventure begins in the charming city of Huaraz. The Andean Raju Expeditions team will arrive at your hotel to pick you up in a private vehicle specially designated for your expedition. From Huaraz, we head north through the majestic Callejón de Huaylas to reach the picturesque town of Paltay. At this point, we will detour east, traveling along a paved road that will take us to the peaceful village of Pashpa.
Here, our muleteer and his faithful donkeys will be ready to transport the expedition's logistical equipment. The hike to Ishinca Base Camp passes through a serene valley, accompanied by a glacial river and a landscape covered in lush vegetation. After approximately three hours of hiking, we will be greeted by the imposing presence of the Palcaraju massif. We will continue to admire the majestic silhouette of Tocllaraju, before finally reaching our destination after a four-hour trek.

Our guide will verify that everything is in perfect condition for the ascent and will rope us up to continue the trek. After approximately three hours of effort and determination, we will reach the summit of Urus (5,420 m). From there, we can marvel at a panoramic view that includes mountain giants such as Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Tocllaraju, Copa, and other 5,000-meter peaks such as Ishinca, Akillpo, and Vicos.
After a reasonable amount of time to rest, hydrate, and capture unforgettable photographs, we'll begin the descent following the same ascent route. Upon reaching camp, we'll enjoy a hearty meal and a well-deserved rest.
